greetings from...

the land of varsity hot dogs, lots of traffic, hot temperatures, and the braves.

what are we up to? here is a quick update since the little man is begging for a popsicle from his bed where he has woken up too early from his nap, or lack of.

-desperately searching for swimming lessons. we are desperate. this has become my mission for the day.

-potty training. we are improving. have gone #2 in potty multiple times. yes. got up from reading today on his own b/c he needed to go tee-tee.

-wiley luvs cats. and he pulls their tails. the ones we are living with. so it's okay.

-we swim a lot.

-we travel a lot. so much that my car is a train wreck, and i am just now moving his clothes out of it...in their rubbermaid container. it's easier to pick up and leave that way. and that's what we've been doing.

-we gave our passys to baby helen. all of them. cold turkey. we are done with them. done like a turkey.

-nomads.

-change.

-in transition.

-but in our travels always comes orangutan. the orangatang. more on this later. is he real? or fake? you'll just have to wait b/c little man needs his popsicle.

June update

Last week, we were really excited to get a new camera! A grown-up camera, SLR, Nikon! After seeing all of Eli and Maddie's pictures in High Def, we thought that this was the perfect gift request for graduation. If we end up going abroad, this will really come in handy capturing all of our adventures. Here are a few pictures from the new camera as well as what we have been up to!

We have gone to the zoo. Twice. Hottest place on earth during the summer, no contest. Not to mention the amount of child leashes you see there. But that is a whole 'nother post. Particularly when you see it on a 9 year old kid. And it is hardly a leash. It is like a rope tied around his waist. I'll stop now.



We have gone to Lake Martin. I got "artsy" with the pictures, it rained a lot, stormed some, we all 3 rode the sea-doo, Heath jumped off chimney rock, and we had some good times with Baba and Big Dean at the pool there. We are so thankful to have the opportunity to go play at such a fun spot!

Girl "things" are so much cuter than boy things. They just are. When our friends had their little girl, you get to finally look at all the cute girl things with her in mind. So, here are a few things that I would like to give to Helen in large quantities...maybe some of them might happen, maybe her mommy and daddy will just be amused. We can't wait to meet you sweet girl!

Bows. Lots of them. All sizes and colors. For every outfit and occasion. Including swimming.

Fun, Hip Pillowcase dress with bloomers. These are just too cute. If only I could figure out how to make these! They don't look to hard to make.

Bloomers. Because little girls need bloomers. Monogrammed ones. For every outfit. One pair should say "Hello Gorgeous" a la MoJo.

Tutu. Every little girl needs a tutu.

Books. Lots of books. Lucky for Helen, her mommy has a wide selection of the classics already, including plush versions of many of them. (Wiley often mistakes Babar, as in Parisian elephant, for Big Al, as in Roll Tide...oops)

Read Aloud Bible Stories

The Giving Tree (or the Tree book as Wiley calls it), this book is for children of all ages!

And since it is summer, Helen obviously needs a monogrammed, seersucker swimsuit....

I think this is stating the obvious, but smocked anything and everything. If only I knew how or had the patience to smock!!

well...

I wish I could post something really cheery and fun. But honestly right now, I'm not feeling so cheery and fun. We are in the process of moving, I mean, finding somewhere to live for when we move next week. I have loved being back in Birmingham and honestly it will be really hard to leave. Today has been long. Atlanta is big. Much bigger than what we are used to. In lieu of complaining and being a "Debbie Downer" I will just leave a few verses that have been encouraging from visiting London last January and for today. Maybe they will help you...
